ABB’s TZIDC Smart Series, also known as “smart” positioners, combines high precision, customizable control functions and easy commissioning using the autohub function. The TZIDC is ideal for mounting on control valves with rotary actuators using standard Namur mounting hardware, but can also be used on linear control valves. Options include gauge blocks and analog/digital feedback. Standard model TZIDC-100 (V18345) has HART communication and Profibus, TZIDC-110 (V18346) has Profibus, TZIDC-120 (V18347) has Fieldbus. The TZIDC can be set up for single and double acting actuators and has a fail-safe (open or close) or fail-safe (hold last position) function. The fully automatic determination of the control parameters and their adaptation to the actuator saves considerable time and optimizes the control behavior. The TZIDC is available for general and hazardous areas with inherent barriers and is FM/CSA and ATEX approved. TZIDC locators are manufactured in Germany.
