Field devices equipped with only one PROFIBUS DP interface can be integrated into a redundant PROFIBUS network by using the redundant link module RLM01. It is like an active switch, converting two redundant lines into a PROFIBUS DP line and vice versa. RLM01 amplifies the signal form and amplitude of the input data, and monitors the activity and error status of all three lines.
